Valerie has been associated with KJCG since 1998 and currently serves as a Senior Consultant. Valerie specializes in developing the internal competencies and organizational capabilities necessary to sustain a culture of inclusion that leverages diversity. She has led KJCG's Advocates Line of Business, which is a comprehensive technology transfer process designed to seed an organization with champions for the new culture. She has been a KJCG Vice President and also served as the Manager of Brand and Strategy Alignment, where she was responsible for overseeing the firm's quality and consistency across clients.
She has more than sixteen years of experience in organizations, including internal and external consulting, and line and staff positions within Fortune 100 companies, not-for-profit organizations and public-sector agencies. Prior to her work with KJCG, Valerie was assistant vice president of organizational development at The Chase Manhattan Bank, where she managed corporate diversity initiatives, work-life events and change management programs. She has also specialized in competency development programs for staff and managers while working as a training consultant for the state of Michigan.
Valerie also speaks at national and local conferences and publishes articles about diversity and culture change. In 2002 she was named as one of the American Society for Training & Development’s New Guard. It is an honor bestowed on a select group of professionals that exhibit passion for making a difference and achievements that are taking the field of training and development in new directions.
Valerie earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Spelman College in Atlanta and her MBA from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. She is a member of the National Black MBA Association, American Society for Training & Development and the Organization Development Network.
