KAREN JOHNS


Karen Johns has been associated with The Kaleel Jamison Consulting Group, Inc. since 2006 and serves as a consultant. As the Executive Director of the Diversity Pipeline Alliance Karen plays a key leadership role in helping corporations increase their diverse workforce pipeline. Through her organization Karen provides key insights on the educational and workforce challenges facing people of color. The Diversity Pipeline Alliance also helps under-represented minority students achieve success at every stage of their education while preparing them for successful careers in business and management.

In addition to consulting, Karen is a frequent speaker on the topic of education and diversity workforce issues and has conducted workshops and presentations at the Conference Board, CDO Summit at Bennett College, Deloitte Consulting Social Venture Network, Gates Scholars Program and Diversity Best Practices. Karen is also Chair of the Board of the Volunteer Consulting Group and a board member of Capital Partners for Education.

A graduate of Tufts University, Ms. Johns has an extensive background in several areas of the non-profit arena including undergraduate admissions and fundraising.  Ms Johns worked for several years at her alma mater during which she created the SIRV initiative an acronym for Saving, Investing and Returning Value to Communities of Color.  This national program, funded by the Kellogg foundation and the Lilly Endowment, teaches financial literacy, wealth creation and philanthropy to professionals of color.
