Living and re-Learning to Be BIG

Too many people have decided the safest way to get through organizational life is to be small. They have decided it is too dangerous to think BIG, to speak out, to take risks. But, particularly today, organizations need people to step up, to bring more of themselves to the workplace, to connect and build solutions with their colleagues, to contribute more and have a bigger impact on the success of the organization.

In this one-day workshop at NTL Institute in Alexandria, VA, Judith Katz and Frederick Miller will partner with attendees to enhance our understanding of all of the many, sometimes subtle ways we make ourselves and others small—creating small teams and organizations. And they will present some specific mindsets and behaviors that will enable each of us to Be BIG as individuals, with our co-workers and working on teams. Based on their latest book, Be BIG: Step Up, Step Out, Be Bold (Berrett-Koehler, 2008), the workshop will:

1. Challenge each of us to show up more fully as individuals and in our interactions with others.

2. Explore ways to Be BIG individually and collectively.

3. Discuss a leadership style that is based on honesty, transparency, and openness to the people of the organization.

REGISTER

Each participant will receive two copies of Be BIG, one to keep and one to give away to a friend or colleague.

KJCG Forms Strategic Partnership with ProtonMedia

The Kaleel Jamison Consulting Group, Inc. (KJCG) announced a strategic partnership with ProtonMedia, a technology company that specializes in innovative solutions through 3-D custom courseware development, simulation-based training, instructional design and consulting services.

The Kaleel Jamison Consulting Group, Inc. works to foster higher operational performance by creating organizational cultures worthy of the commitment, energy, talent and imagination of their people. This strategic partnership with ProtonMedia will strengthen KJCG’s existing mission to create organizational communities of effort where people can do their best work.

“As we begin the 21st Century we are entering a time when organizations are recognizing the operational benefits and higher organizational success enabled by mass collaboration and the global co-creation of knowledge,” explains KJCG President Corey L. Jamison. “The advent and mainstreaming of 3-D virtual world technology, especially ProtonMedia’s Protosphere platform, will provide an opportunity for organizations to think differently about how they connect with their people—and how people connect to each other.”

ProtonMedia’s Protosphere platform is a business-appropriate, live virtual world that enables rapid knowledge sharing, provides for simulations that allow users to practice skills in a safe environment, and supports connectivity among users to form mentor relationships and communities of practice.

“Speed of knowledge transfer is the only competitive advantage in the innovation age,” says Ron Burns, president of ProtonMedia. “In today’s fast-changing marketplace, companies are racing for global leadership and battling to secure strong positions in the industries and markets of the future. In an effort to break down these barriers, it is imperative that companies use an organizational approach to maximize their strengths and capabilities.”
