Frederick A. Miller Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Frederick A. Miller, CEO and Lead Client Strategist of The Kaleel Jamison Consulting Group, Inc. (KJCG), was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from The Organization Development Network (OD Network) for his many years of service to the consulting industry. The award pays tribute to a globally or nationally recognized individual whose achievements over the course of a lifetime have demonstrated a commitment to the field of organizational development (OD).

Nominees for the award are considered based on how their actions and writings have broadened the conceptual framework of the field and how they have fundamentally challenged and changed the thinking about the practice of OD. Also considered is a demonstration of true, sustainable and measurable change provided to organizations and individuals with whom the nominees have worked.

“As a person of color who has achieved great things in this field, we have wanted Fred to get this award for some time,” said OD Network Executive Director Margaret Franks Hoyer. “Considering a career of accomplishments that continues to grow we felt it was Fred’s time and we are very proud of all he has done.”

Miller is a pioneer and leading authority on creating cultures of inclusion that are high performing and enable each person to do her/his best work. He has been recognized as one of the forerunners of corporate change and has led KJCG since 1985. One of the nation’s most respected consulting firms specializing in strategic culture change, KJCG has been partnering since 1970 with Fortune 50 companies, entrepreneurial founder-led companies, non-profit organizations, educational institutions and governmental agencies.

“It is always an honor to be recognized by your peers,” said Miller. “An achievement of this stature reflects the assistance I have received along the way by those who have been my teachers, my mentors and still others who have been my encouraging supporters. It is also a testament to all I have learned from the many wonderful clients I have worked with.”

OD pioneer Edith Whitfield Seashore, who nominated Miller for this prestigious award, said, “Fred has been tireless and fearless in his support of OD, educational activities related to OD and to the OD Network. He has invested enormous energy in mentoring his own generation and following generations in how OD is instrumental in making organizations and the world more humane and productive.”

OD Network will present the award at its Annual Conference held this year in Baltimore, Maryland, 21-24 October.

The OD Network is an international professional association of organization development practitioners which offers the finest resources, professional development and networking opportunities for organization development professionals. OD Network members come from all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and around the world.

In February 2008, Miller was also awarded the HR Leadership Award by the Asia-Pacific HRM Congress in Mumbai India.
